Needless to say, there is no lack, but an absolute abundance, of ignorance when it comes to our present-day politicians. Granted, some are far more steeped in stupidity than others, but there is still no shortage of ignorance all around. Although our present-day politicians prove themselves ignorant on a variety of subjects, there is no subject where they are more ignorant than the subject of religion. Indeed, some of them even prove themselves ignorant of the very religion that they themselves publicly profess.

When it comes to ignorance of religions, no religion is more misunderstood and misrepresented in America today than Islam. This is not only true when it comes to our politicians, but when it comes to our populace as well. Take for example the common refrain that “Islam” means “peace.” The truth is; the word “Islam” was originally a military term used by the primitive Arabs to denote "heroism in battle." It literally means "submission" or “surrender." 

According to Islam, the world is divided into two households: "Dar al-Islam" and "Dar al-Harb." The first household, "Dar al-Islam," which means "the house of Islam," is made up of our world's Muslims. The second household, "Dar al-Harb," which means "the house of war," is made up of our world's non-Muslim population, with whom all Muslims are at war until the whole world is brought to its knees in submission to Allah, the god of Islam. This explains why Islam has always been called, “The Religion of the Sword.” It has always been and always will be a militant religion whose goal is world domination.

The Koran's famous verse of the sword teaches Muslims to "fight and slay the pagans [non-Muslims] wherever" they are found. In addition to the famous verse of the sword, there are 122 other verses in the Koran that teach Muslims to fight and kill in the cause of Allah. The founder of Islam, the Prophet Mohammed, taught that holy war or jihad—fighting against all who refuse to convert to Islam—was the greatest service a Muslim could ever render to his god, Allah. The following words are not those of a modern-day radical Islamist or Hamas terrorist, but of the Prophet Mohammed himself, the founder of Islam.

"The sword is the key to heaven and hell; a day of blood shed in the cause of Allah, a night spent in arms, is of more avail than two months of fasting and prayer: whosoever falls in battle, his sins are forgiven, and at the day of judgment his limbs shall be supplied by the wings of angels and cherubim.”

This past Wednesday, ignorance of Islam was put on public display by Democrat congressional members, when they argued, during a congressional hearing on, “Why Political Islam & Sharia Law are Incompatible with the U.S. Constitution,” that Muslims, just like Christians, can make exemplarily American citizens. The truth, however, is that real Muslims, who are faithful to the teachings of their holy book, the Koran, the tenets of their professed religion, the Religion of the Sword, and the dictates of their supposed prophet, the Prophet Mohammed, can never be a loyal citizen of our constitutional republic.

To all real faithful adherents to the doctrines of the Koran, as well as faithful followers of the Prophet Mohammed, the Koran itself is not just a religious code, but the social, civil, criminal, commercial, economic, military, and political code of the Islamic state. Furthermore, the Koran not only teaches that all people are to be fought until they are converted to Islam and under the control of the Islamic state, but also that no opposition to the Islamic state is to ever be permitted.

Islam is more than a religion; it is a comprehensive way of life. The Koran and the Hadith, Islam’s other sacred text, prescribe numerous regulations governing ever aspect of a Muslim’s life. For instance, the Koran dictates that Muslim women must be veiled in public. To make matters worse, these numerous regulations are stretched to unbearable limits in today’s Islamic countries. For example, in Saudi Arabia women are forbidden from riding bicycles or driving automobiles and in Afghanistan, the governing Taliban, have at times outlawed singing and laughing in public. Obviously such totalitarianism is completely incompatible with the rights and freedoms guaranteed to all citizens in our constitutional republic.

 The answer to the question－“Can a devout Muslim be an American patriot?”－is a resounding “No!” 

1. Religiously, no, because no other religion is to be permitted except Islam.
2. Geographically, no, because the Muslim’s allegiance is to Mecca, to which he or she turns five times a day in prayer.
3. Socially, no, because Muslims are forbidden by the Koran from making friends with Jews and Christians.
4. Politically, no, because all Muslims are to submit to their mullahs, Islam’s spiritual leaders, not to democratically elected officials, America’s political leaders. 
5. Domestically, no, because Islam allows polygamy and the beating and scourging of insubordinate wives.
6. Civically, no, because the U.S. Constitution is based on Biblical principles, and the Koran teaches that the Bible has been corrupted by Jews and Christians.

Any honest observer of modern-day Western Civilization is very much aware of this frightening fact: Islamic fifth columnists are not only invading and infiltrating European nations, but also undermining their cultures and governments. Likewise, the same phenomenon is occurring right here and now in these United States, even at an accelerated rate, thanks to Democrats’ open border policy and opposition to the deportation of illegal immigrants. Yet, much, if not most, of our politicians and populace are totally clueless about the fifth columnists now marching through our country. If we do not wake up to what’s going on we will soon fall prey to the Biblically foretold fate of the foolish; that is, we will be destroyed by our lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). As Philip Wylie once said, “Ignorance is not bliss; it is oblivion.”
