If you asked me to describe American foreign policy over the last half century in one word, I’d unhesitatingly answer, “Naive!” We’ve been inundated with Neville Chamberlains, the naive ninny who returned to Britain from Munich, following his meeting with Adolf Hitler in 1938, to proudly announce to the Brits, just prior to Germany’s invasion of Poland, “Peace in our time.”

I remember when President Bill Clinton sent billions of our taxpayer dollars to Kim Jong-il, the father of Kim Jong Un, in exchange for North Korea’s bogus promise to backoff of its building of a hydrogen bomb. I even remember Clinton’s Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, being dispatched to Pyongyang with a notable peace offering, a Michael Jordan signed basketball for the Hermit Kingdom’s “Dear Leader.” However, Kim Jong-il ended up double dribbling on Clinton and Albright, by reneging on his promise not to build thermonuclear bombs in exchange for billions of American taxpayer dollars. Instead, he used our money to make his Hermit Kingdom into a half-cocked and most menacing nuclear threat, especially now that the finger of his nutty son has replaced his own on North Korea’s nuclear button.

I also remember President Barack Obama airlifting pallets of American taxpayer dollars to Iran in 2016. All told, those pallets of our hard-earned money added up to $400 million, which Obama used as leverage to get Iran’s mad mullahs to release 4 Americans being held in Tehran’s infamous Evin Prison. Not to be outdone by Obama, Joe Biden paid the mad mullahs of Iran six billion dollars in ransom for the release of 5 Americans in 2023. In other words, Biden picked our taxpayer pockets to award Iran’s mad mullahs $1.2 billion for each American they had seized and shackled. Of course, naive Joe, just like naive Barack, back when he gullibly gave Iran 150 billion dollars in the JCPOA nuclear deal, assured us that the mad mullahs of Iran would never use a single penny out of all of those billions of bucks from our billfolds to fund their mad dash toward nuclear weapons.

On and on I could go about the past nativity of our previous presidents, regardless of their political party, but I believe I’ve sufficiently proven my point. Therefore, I’d like to turn my attention to our present president, who I fear is continuing our country’s long line of credulous Commanders-in-Chief, by both coddling Russia’s Vladimir Putin and throttling Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu.

First, Donald Trump is coddling Russia’s Vladimir Putin, who is not only a coldblooded and bloodthirsty former KGB agent, but also a ruthless communist dictator with visions of grandeur. He envisions himself as a modern-day Peter or Catherine the Great, whose destiny it is to restore the Russian empire to the former dimensions and dominion of the Soviet Union. To him, as to all godless communist despots, people are nothing more than chattel, a mere means to his ends or mere obstacles to be eliminated.

Putin’s first stop on restoring Russia to its former size and stature is Ukraine, which he hopes to recapture and reincorporate into the Motherland. In 2014, Putin pretty much stole Crimea from Ukraine, without firing a shot and with nothing but a peep of protest from world leaders, such as our own President, Barack Obama, who took no punitive actions against Putin. Having gotten away with his theft of Crimea, Putin was emboldened to militarily invade Ukraine's Donbas region, which was quickly occupied by Russian forces. Once again, Putin's brazen violation of Ukrainian sovereignty and stealing of Ukrainian territory was met with little more than a whimper of protest from world leaders, who actually appealed to the Ukrainians to cease and desist in their military defense of their homeland. Then, in 2022, Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, after receiving a perceived go-ahead from President Joe Biden, who suggested the protest of world leaders might once again be muted over another "minor" Russian incursion into Ukraine.

Today, as President Trump holds out an olive branch to Putin, Vladimir is thumbing his nose at Donald. Pretending to play along in peace negotiations, so that he can string along our president, Vladimir Putin continues to relentlessly rain down bombs on Ukraine’s civilian population, such as his recent attack on Kiev, which was the largest aerial bombardment of the Ukrainian capital since the war began. If Trump doesn’t soon change his tune, by making a believer out of Putin, by imposing crippling sanctions on the Russian economy, Putin will continue to play Trump like a fiddle, until he finishes plucking out his rendition of the Ukrainian swan song.

Second, Donald Trump is also throttling Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu, who is in a fight to the death for his nation’s survival. As Trump recently admitted, he is restraining Netanyahu from bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities, which would once and for all end the nightmarish prospect of the mad mullahs of Iran acquiring nuclear weapons. While Iran’s mad mullahs continue to reinforce their underground nuclear facilities and to enrich uranium, Trump is trying to make a deal with these masters of deception, just as the naive Barack Obama once did, only to discover afterward that he had bolstered rather than blocked the mad mullahs’ mad dash toward nuclear weaponry. If Trump doesn’t wakeup and unleash BiBi Netanyahu on Iran’s mad mullahs and their nuclear facilities, I’m afraid our whole world will soon find itself engulfed in a nightmare of rising mushroom clouds.

Evil, whether it is found in the form of Iran’s mad mullahs or Russia’s mad monocrat, can never be appeased, but must be annihilated. As Edmund Burke famously proclaimed, “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.” In his book on The Baptist Faith And Message, Southern Baptists’ confession of faith, Herschel Hobbs wrote that our refusal to go to war against evil “would turn the world into a jungle ruled by criminals and tyrants, and in which all moral and spiritual values would disappear from the social order.” In other words, both Burke and Hobbs taught, what our present president definitely needs to learn, that if the world doesn’t war against evil, then, evil will win and take the world!
