The Apostle John predicted that the spirit of antichrist, which was already in the world in his day, would continue to grow in the world until it finally crest and broke over the whole end-time earth (1 John 4:3). That our antichrist world is becoming increasingly possessed with the spirit of antichrist, as the Bible predicts, is made obvious today by the expeditious rise of antisemitism and anti-Christianity throughout our world. All over the world today, open season is being declared on God's people, both His chosen people—Israel and the Jews—and His elect people—the church and Christians. While no other persecution is permitted against any other religion, Judaism and Christianity may be persecuted with impunity. After all, as the whole world concluded 24 years ago, at the United Nations' 2001 World Conference against Racism in Durban, South Africa, the lone troublemakers in our world today are Christians and Jews.
What happened in Durban In 2001 was truly extraordinary. The whole world unanimously agreed, with the lone exceptions of the American and Israeli delegations, who walked out of the United Nations' South Africa conference in protest, that all racism could be traced to two sources—the Jewish State of Israel and “Christian America.” In other words, the whole world condemned Christians and Jews as the lone culprits of all intolerance upon the earth. While the attention of the world was quickly diverted from this rearing of the ugly head of the spirit of antichrist upon our earth by the 9/11/01 terrorist attack upon our nation, which, along with the October 7, 2023 terrorist attack upon Israel, were certainly spawned by such universal antichrist and antisemitic sentiment, I for one never forgot it, since it signaled to me, as it should have to any spiritually astute and serious student of Scripture, that the spirit of antichrist had taken possession of our end-time world.
What occurred in Durbin way back in 2001, as well as the swelling tide of antisemitism and of the spirit of antichrist that has been rising in our world ever since, should convince all Bible-believing Christians that we are now on the precipice of the Biblically predicted end-time persecution of both God's chosen people and God's elect people. Undoubtedly, our world, as well as our own country, are becoming, as the Bible predicts, something positively beastly. Although unimaginable to previous generations of Americans, today's America is becoming an antisemitic and antichrist nation, whose politicians and populace are becoming increasingly acrimonious towards Christians and Jews, who are roundly and readily condemned as the sole obstacles to a peaceful and paradisiacal planet that pipe dreaming socialist utopians have long envisioned.
For years I've been asked by others, "What can we do to change what is happening?" Unfortunately, the unpopular answer to this question is, "Nothing!" We are witnessing the predestined, preordained, and Biblically predicted plans and purposes of God coming to pass perfectly upon this earth. No angel in Heaven, no devil in Hell, and no man upon earth can stop it. Instead, we can only prepare for the unstoppable, by giving ourselves to serious prayer, now that "the end of all things is at hand" (1 Peter 4:7).
According to the Bible, it is through the fiery trials of end-time tribulation and unprecedented persecution that God's chosen people, Israel and the Jews, will be purged, in order for the surviving remnant to be ready to receive and serve their returning Messiah as His loyal subjects, during His Millennial Kingdom. In addition, the Bible also teaches that it will be through the fiery trails of end-time tribulation and unprecedented persecution that God's elect people, the church and Christians, will be purified, in order to be prepared to present themselves as a glorious and spotless bride to Christ, their returning Bridegroom, at His Second Coming. Until then, let us stay on our knees and lift up our heads, because our redemption is definitely drawing near (Luke 21:28).
