President Biden is portraying himself as “fighting for the soul of America,” by vilifying half of our population as “semi-fascists.” He is, at least rhetorically, inciting civil war, with his call to eliminate MAGA extremists who are “threatening the very foundations of our Republic.” According to ole Joe, if not vanquished, MAGA Americans will destroy our democracy. Thus, we find ourselves today, as Abraham Lincoln once famously said, “Engaged in a great civil war to see if our nation can endure.”
Truly, no president in all of American history has been guilty of such reckless rhetoric and incendiary patter as our current president. His recklessness goes to prove, however, that he and his political party will stoop to anything and stop at nothing to gain and maintain power. While their political strategy is obviously to divide and conquer, to pit Americans against one another in hopes of Democrats winning November’s midterm elections, they are oblivious to the inevitable consequences of their terminal tactics.
Jesus said, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand” (Matthew 12:25). In light of these wise words of Christ, we can see that what Joe Biden is doing under the guise of saving America; namely, dividing it, is actually assuring America’s destruction. How can we possibly explain such irrational and injurious invective being spewed from the mouth of our head of state?
In Joe Biden’s case, part of the explanation for his seemingly inexplicable destructive diatribes may be attributed to his undeniable cognitive impairment. Examples of it are plentiful and proliferating. For instance, in a recent rant against gun-owning MAGA Americans, who see their Second Amendment rights as our Founding Fathers did, as first and foremost a safeguard against their own government, our Commander-in-Chief mockingly said that MAGA Americans need more than guns “to take on the government.” According to ole Joe, they “need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons.” Now, at the same time, Joe and his political party are condemning, while his Department of Justice prosecutes, unarmed protestors in viking hats for nearly overthrowing our government on January 6th 2021. How can you possibly reconcile these complete contradictions apart from our Commander-in-Chief’s cognitive impairment?
To truly understand the dire and desperate straits we now find ourselves in, we must realize that it is not just our president who has lost touch with reality, but his political party and a large swath of our populace as well. When it comes to our president’s party, consider a couple of other cognitively impaired cases. First, the out of touch with reality Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, who just led his state to outlaw gasoline powered motor vehicles by 2035, but at the same time is asking all Californians to set their thermostats at 78 degrees, to stop using major appliances, and not to charge their electric vehicles, lest they overload the state’s failing power grid and cause a black or brownout. In addition, there is the radical Mayor of Jackson Mississippi, Chokwe Antar Lumum, who promised voters he would make Jackson into the most radical city in America, a city with such things as universal basic income and alternatives to policing. However, far from the progressive paradise he promised, Mayor Lumum has not even be able to provide the residence of Jackson with safe drinking water.
Finally, we ignore at our own peril the fact that the likes of Joe Biden, Gavin Newsom, and Chokwe Antar Lumum are elected to office by the American people, which translates into our electorate being as imbecilic as those elected. We wouldn’t be governed by crazies, if they hadn’t been elected to government by crazies. Yet, we need to pause here and consider something far more nefarious than our national nuttiness. According to the Bible, people can become so steeped in sin that they become sick in the head (Isaiah 1:4-5). Iniquitousness can lead to insanity. Is this the real problem in today’s America; it’s not so much that we’ve become so stupid, but that we’ve become so sinful?
The Bible predicts that at the end of time the whole world will be become delusional; that is, it will be swept away in great delusion (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12). Men, who refused to accept and love the truth, and who chose sin over the Savior, will become lunatics, falling for lies, even the most laughable and ludicrous ones. Therefore, what we’re witnessing in America today may be proof positive that we’re living in the last days. It may have much more to do with our spiritual condition than cognitive impairment, much more to do with our sinfulness than stupidity, and much more to do with demonization than our being dumb-downed. After all, how else can you explain the insane goings-on in America today?
