The problem with mass shootings is not guns in the hands of men, but sin in men’s hearts. The solution is not to be found in our nation’s capital, but in Christ, and in Christ alone. Only He can save us from our sin (Isaiah 43:11; Acts 4:12). If we really want to stop mass shootings in America, then we need to turn to God in repentance, not to our government for a legislative remedy. A government remedy will prove, as legislative remedies always do, totally inadequate to deal with the fallen human condition, which is a manmade mess that requires the greatest of divine miracles to remedy. Only by turning to Christ, who is our only solution, can America be saved from future mass shootings.
