Our Founding Fathers founded our country upon an acknowledgment of God. For instance, in our nation’s “Birth Certificate,” the Declaration of Independence, they spelled out the sole purpose of government, to protect and preserve the citizenry’s God-given and inalienable rights; such as, the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. According to the Declaration of Independence, these rights are granted to us by our Creator and are therefore irrevocable. In light of this, our Founding Fathers went so far as to assert that a government failing to perform its God-ordained role of securing its citizens’ God-given rights is a government that should be overthrown by the people.

The Democratic-controlled House of Representatives recently banned “so help me God” from oaths sworn before it. According to Democrats, any acknowledgment of God by government is forbidden by our Constitution. Obviously, this is an absurd assertion, that a government founded upon its acknowledgment of God has forbidden itself from acknowledging God.

The ancient psalmist, in Psalm 11:3, asked the question: “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” The obvious answer to this question is: “Nothing!” If the foundation is destroyed, the structure is irreparable. It’s just a matter of time until it collapses.

Although few Americans are willing to admit it, the very foundation of our nation, our acknowledgment of God, is being pulled out from under us by our present-day government. Consequently, with the foundation that our Founders laid for our nation being destroyed, which alone enabled us to become the greatest country in the history of the world, there is no hope of building and making today’s rickety America great again. Indeed, it’s just a matter of time until our country collapses.
