In Jesus' day, the temple was not a building built by human hands (Acts 7:48), but the body of Christ (John 2:19-22), for God was alive in the world in the man Christ Jesus. Today, the temple of God is still the body of Christ. However, it is not His physical body, but His spiritual body—the church (Ephesians 2:19-22; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17; 6:19-20; 2 Corinthians 6:16). God is alive in the world today in the person of the Holy Spirit who indwells all believers in Christ. Neither Muslims nor Jews, who are once again fighting over the Temple Mount, are aware of the fact that it is spiritually desolate, a place abandoned by Christ long ago (Matthew 23:38-24:2). To raise the ire of both sides of the political aisle against me once more, let me repeat my oft repeated opinion of modern-day politics: "Democrats are godless and Republicans are gutless." It's time we issued another "Global Warming" Warning. We've done this periodically over the years, like the time representatives from almost 200 different countries met in Cancun, Mexico to strategize about the best ways to save the planet from global meltdown. The ironic thing about this particular global warming conference was that while it was being held in Cancun, Mexico's popular seaside city, the city experienced the coldest temperatures ever recorded in its long history. How typical will last week in America prove to be of the weeks ahead? It was a week in which the lesbian mayor of America's fourth largest city subpoenaed the sermons of pastors in hopes of prosecuting them over any derogatory remark they may have made against homosexuality. It was also a week in which ordained ministers in Idaho were told by their city government that they would perform same-sex wedding ceremonies against their biblical beliefs and Christian convictions or face jail time and ruinous financial fines. I think its time Christians targeted Target as a “No Trespass Zone.” The company that attempted to ban the mention of “Merry Christmas” from their stores has now released a new advertisement featuring two lesbians preparing a room for the arrival of “their” child. The ad begins with the two lesbians saying, “I’m Amanda, and I’m Cat, and we’re having a baby!” Of course, this is a biological impossibility, but why bother with the facts when you’re trying to promote sexual perversion as moral wholesomeness and the foundation of a healthy home?

There is an appendix to my book "Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace" entitled "The Supreme Court Strikes Down DOMA." When I began the manuscript there was a case pending before the United States Supreme Court on the constitutionality of the federal Defense of Marriage Act. Five days after I finished the manuscript, the Supreme Court, by the slimmest of margins (5 to 4), struck down the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) as unconstitutional. Aaron and Melissa Klein are Christians who own and operate a bakery in Gresham, Oregon. After refusing to bake a “wedding” cake for a lesbian couple, Oregon’s Attorney General launched a criminal investigation against the Kleins. The investigation resulted in them being fined $150,000.00 for breaking the state’s non-discrimination laws. According to a report entitled “Changing American Congregations,” almost half of today’s churches are now allowing openly gay or lesbian couples to become full-fledged members. In addition, more than a fourth of America’s  congregations have no problem with gays and lesbians serving in positions of church leadership. At the same time, acceptance of homosexuality and same-sex marriage has grown to 62% of America’s present-day population. This certainly doesn’t bode well for the future of our country, especially in light of world history and the teachings of the Bible.
