I preached a sermon on Isaiah 57:15 this past Sunday that I entitled: THE HIGH AND LOFTY ONE WHO DWELLS IN THE HIGH AND HOLY PLACE. In the message, I speak of how high and holy God is and how high and holy a place Heaven is, which proves our only hope of coming to God and getting to Heaven is coming to the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone can present us to God in Heaven as one of His blameless and holy ones (1 Thessalonians 3:13).

If I were asked to characterize our day and time with one word, the word I would choose would be "irreverence." We have profaned the sacred making it all too familiar. As a result, there is no fear of God among us. Our lofty opinion is of ourselves, not of our God, into whose presence we .........

I have the perfect passage of Scripture for last night's presidential debate. Before I point you to it and expound upon it let me asks you a question. Are you as horrified as I am that the race for the highest office in our land has come down to these two candidates, whose first debate was reminiscent of schoolyard fights we were accustomed to in our childhood? Rather than presidential, they both appeared petty. Clinton called Trump names and Trump spent most of the night defending himself against Clinton's name-calling. All in all, Clinton did what the liberal elite in this country always do, demean everyone who disagrees with them, while Trump, being the egomaniac that he is, did what he always does, talked about himself, .........

I was watching a documentary on PBS the other day about Howard Dean's candidacy for the presidency. I had forgotten about his fiery campaign speech in which he screamed, "I don't want to listen to the fundamentalist preachers anymore." It seems all America is screaming with Dean against Christian fundamentalists now, not just those on both sides of the political aisle, but those without, as well as within the contemporary church in America. Just a few years ago, a survey revealed that the vast majority of Americans would prefer to live next door to a member of organized crime than next door to a member of a Christian fundamentalist church.

However, if you look up the word "fundamental" you will .........

I keep getting emails inviting me to events that are designed to convince pastors to call their congregations to the polls this November, because of all that is at stake in this year's presidential election. However, the undeniable truth, despite the fact that America's Christian community is in self-denial of it, is that nothing is really at stake anymore, since our country is already lost. Now, it gives me no pleasure to say such a thing and can only result in my ever-increasing unpopularity among my fellow evangelicals, not to mention ever-growing persecution from my fellow Americans. Still, what I'm saying should prove incontrovertible to the spiritually discerning and scripturally astute. I'm not saying it because I&...

It's time we faced the harsh and hard truth about WE THE PEOPLE in today's America. First, if we fail to be manipulated by its propaganda, WE THE PEOPLE are maligned by today's media. Second, the votes of WE THE PEOPLE are not only monopolized by a corrupt two party political system, but also easily overridden by gavel swinging judicial despots. Third, WE THE PEOPLE are no longer represented by our elected representatives, who only do what they deem best for their political careers rather than their constituencies. Fourth, WE THE PEOPLE are no longer being served by our government, but being subjugated to our government. We’re being ruled by the executive fiats of a dictatorial Chief Executive. We’re being fleeced by......

Who could have ever dreamed of a day in America when boycotts of states would be held over the right of a man in a dress to use the ladies' restroom? Both the NCAA and the ACC are moving playoff events out of North Carolina over the state's recently passed law to protect women's privacy in public bathrooms from being invaded by transgendered Toms who think they're Thomasinas. Of course, in the typical fashion of spineless and greasy palmed present-day politicians, North Carolina state legislators are beginning to backpedal on their recently passed legislation, thanks to the protest of North Carolina business owners over the Tar Heel state’s potential loss of millions in revenue. Don’t forget what the Bible .........

Now, I don't know anything about "Pepe the Frog"; and furthermore, I don't want to. But the fact that contenders for the highest office in our land and the most powerful position in our world are crossing swords over a cartoon frog while our country and world are going to hell in a hand basket is proof positive of the insanity of present-day politics. Both major party presidential candidates, Hillary and Donald, are cartoon characters themselves; that is, they are a couple of “Looney Tunes” void of any real substance. The far greater tragedy in all of this, however, is that the illustrators of today’s political funnies are actually the American people, who are totally bereft of any understanding of how ............

This has got to be the bottom of the barrel of modern-day America's buffoonery. Steve Sarkisian has sued USC for discrimination against his alcoholism. Apparently, Sarkisian feels his drunkenness, which rendered him incapable of earning his multi-million dollar salary as the Trojan's football coach, is something for which he should neither be held responsible nor accountable. On the other hand, according to Sarkisian, USC should be forced by the courts to pay him millions of dollars for terminating his multi-million dollar contract rather than allowing him to stay on at the school and stagger up and down their sideline.

It was Karl Menninger who asked the question, in the title of his 1973 book, “Whatever .........

Today is the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack upon our country. When I think of the falling of the Twin Towers on that infamous day in American history, I cannot help but think about the collapsing of the tower of Siloam in Jesus’ day. According to our Lord, the 18 people crushed by the collapsing tower of Siloam were not singled out by God for judgment as the worst sinners in Jerusalem (Luke 13:4-5). Likewise, the victims of 9/11 were not singled out by God for judgment as the worst sinners in America. However, both 9/11 and the collapsing tower of Siloam should be seen as harbingers of God’s coming judgment upon all the unrepentant.

Jesus used tragedies, such as the collapsing of the Tower .........
