Too many Christians today think they are free from idols and false religions just because they're not bowing down to a Buddha or a member of a cult. However, they fail to see that an idol is anything that distracts us from God and that a false religion is anything comprised of doctrines contrary to the teachings of God's Word.
Climate change is a false religion, which explains why Al Gore claims it is both a "moral and spiritual issue." It has its own priests, people like Al Gore. It has its own infallible word, the so-called settled science of today's science by consensus. It has its own hell, the flames of an incinerating earth, to which it warns all humanity is to be condemned for daring to question or disagree with the dogma of its "inerrant" dogmatists. And it peddles its own salvation—the salvation of our planet—which can only be had by our confession of it as lord of our lives.
This false religion is sweeping our planet without even being recognized for what it is, a spurious faith being used by governments to enslave their populaces. Our own government is using it, under the ruse of saving us from such great evils as car exhaust and cow flatuence, to gain ever-increasing control over our lives.
Long ago, the Apostle Paul warned Christians not to be deceived in this world by what is falsely called science (1 Timothy 6:20). Today, however, Christians are bowing at the altar of false science and adhering to its tyranny without even realizing their apostasy. God help us!
