There is an appendix to my book "Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace" entitled "The Supreme Court Strikes Down DOMA." When I began the manuscript there was a case pending before the United States Supreme Court on the constitutionality of the federal Defense of Marriage Act. Five days after I finished the manuscript, the Supreme Court, by the slimmest of margins (5 to 4), struck down the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) as unconstitutional. I predicted that this Supreme Court ruling would have an inevitable domino effect that would eventually lead to the downfall of every state ban on same-sex marriage in America.

Since my book was published and DOMA was struck down by "the Supremes," state bans against same-sex marriage have been falling like dominos, just as I predicted. They've been easily pushed over by judges' gavels. Yesterday, our Supreme Court refused to hear appeals against the legalizing of same-sex marriage in states where federal judges have overturned the will of the people and the people's bans on same-sex marriage. No clearer message could be sent from our Supreme Court Justices. Yesterday's refusal by them to hear reviews on state bans on same-sex marriage proves that to the court our voice no longer counts. Instead, they now believe their gavels are scepters, their black robes regal, and their bench a throne.

Thomas Jefferson once said, “To consider the judges as the ultimate arbiters of all constitutional questions [is] a very dangerous doctrine indeed, and one which would place us under the despotism of an oligarchy.” He went on to warn that granting the judiciary alone “the power of declaring what the law is” makes it into “a despotic branch” of government, makes judges into “despots” and makes the Constitution into “a mere thing of wax in the hands of the judiciary, which they may twist and shape into any form they please.” According to Jefferson, this notion of judicial despotism must be rejected, lest the judiciary “slyly and without alarm” accomplish “what open force would not dare attempt”; namely, the undermining of our Constitution and the overthrow of our government.

Wake up Christians! Our government is being overthrown, our Constitution undermined, and the way cleared for the twenty remaining state bans on same-sex marriage to be knocked down by the gavels of judicial despots. This country is toast! God's judgment impending! Jesus is coming! It's time for you to prepare to meet your God (Amos 4:12)!
