Although I know the Bible is considered an antiquated collection of ancient superstition by most sophisticated modern-day Americans, it certainly speaks to our present-day predicament with a clarity you will not find in the confusing rhetoric of today's politicians and political pundits. For instance, the Bible teaches us that the irrational fear of one thousand people running from one and of ten thousand running from two is a sure sign of a people abandoned by God and under His judgment (Deuteronomy 32:30). Yesterday, the second-largest school district in America, the Los Angeles school district, which has more than a thousand schools attended by more than 640,000 students, was shut down over a single email threat received by a lone school board member. Do you remember when the whole city of Boston was shut down over a Muslim teenager hiding under a tarp in a boat parked in a Bostonian's backyard? How about when this whole nation was brought to its knees in fear by nineteen box-cutter armed Muslim hijackers on 9/11?

How do you explain the irrational fear of today's Americans, such as our fear of the late Osama bin Laden, a man who spent the last few years of his life in Afghan caves and a Pakistani compound afraid to use his own cellphone? Whereas you, as well as today's politicians and political pundits, may find it inexplicable, the Bible, that old antiquated relic, has a clear explanation. America is a God-forsaking nation that is now, not only abandoned by God, but already under His judgment. Contrary to what our politicians are telling us, it's our transgressions against God, not Muslim terrorists who are against us, that is the real threat to our nation's survival. It's God we should fear, not ISIS and al-Qaeda!
