If you want to see the corruption of American government in all of its infamy, look no further this morning than to the bought and paid for governor of the state of Georgia. Governor Nathan Deal announced yesterday that he would veto the State House’s recently passed Religious Liberty Bill. The legislation is designed to simply protect pastors, churches and religious organizations from being forced to violate their Christian beliefs and convictions by the militant LGBT community and our country’s increasingly despotic courts.

No sooner had the bill been passed than militant homosexuals and radical leftwing ideologues descended on the state threatening an economic boycott under their typical and incessant chant of intolerance. Over fear of losing a nickel or two, corporate America began to decry Georgia’s Religious Liberty Bill, insisting that it be vetoed by Governor Deal. Disney threatened to stop filming in the state, the NFL threatened to no longer allow Georgia to host Super Bowls, and many Fortune 500 companies spoke out against the bill as well, such as Coca-Cola, Home Depot and Time-Warner, the parent company of CNN.

In response to big money’s objections, Governor Deal announced yesterday his intention to veto the bill, proving himself to be a typical politician of our day, a political puppet control by the purse strings of corporate America. What is playing out in Georgia is confirmation of what is taught in the Scripture: “The love of money is the root of all evil” (1 Timothy 6:10). Of course, this scriptural truth is lost on modern-day Americans, as well as the fact that liberals, who continuously protest against the financial corruption of our politics, use financially corrupt politicians, like Georgia’s Governor Deal, to strong-arm them into doing their bidding.

Unbelievably, Governor Deal attempted to conceal is political sellout by claiming that his veto of Georgia’s Religious Liberty Bill was prompted by his heeding of “the ‘hands-off’ admonition of the First Amendment to our Constitution.” According to the double-dealing and dirty dealing Deal, since our Founders taught that our religious liberty comes from God, government has no role to play in matters of religious liberty. How someone so ignorant of basic civics could occupy the Georgia Governor’s Mansion speaks volumes about the idiocy and ineptness of our present-day politicians.

Far from having no role to play in the inalienable and God-given rights of the people, such as the right to religious liberty, our Founding Fathers taught that government’s sole purpose was to protect and to preserve those rights, which is exactly what the Religious Liberty Bill Governor Deal plans to veto was designed to do. In addition, our Founding Fathers taught that when government fails to fulfill its God-given responsibility of protecting and preserving our inalienable rights, we the people should rise up and depose that government, lest we find ourselves under its tyranny. I’ll guarantee you that our Founding Fathers would lock and load their muskets and march on the Governor’s Mansion in Georgia if they were alive today. But alas, today’s Americans, unlike our revolutionary Founders, are a docile people ready and willing to succumb to the tranny of a corrupt government sold-out to the almighty dollar.

To make matters even worse in present-day America, the militant LGBT community and radical leftwing ideologues have despotic judges to turn to whenever corrupt politicians fail to force-feed sexual perversion down our throats, regardless of our religious beliefs. For instance, legislation similar to Georgia’s Religious Liberty Bill has been passed in North Carolina and signed into law by their governor. However, no sooner was the law signed than militant homosexuals sued North Carolina’s Governor and called upon a judge to strike down the law as unconstitutional. As recent history has repeatedly proved, all it takes is one black robed judge with gavel in hand to overrule the voices, votes and elected representatives of the people.

I’ve been preaching for years, much to the chagrin of my fellow-Christians, that our country has passed a point of no return with God. According to God’s Word, a sure sign of spiritual reprobation is the acceptance and advocacy of homosexuality (Romans 1:18-32). Our country has not only legitimized homosexuality by legalizing same-sex marriage, but is now persecuting and prosecuting all who refuse to accept and adhere to the agenda of the radical LGBT community. How spiritually reprobate has our country proven itself to be?

With judicial despots ready to hammer with their gavels the least little peep of protest from Christians against the sexual perversion of the LGBT community, and with the money-grubbers of corporate America and the corrupt politicians who they control with their purse strings doing the LGBT community’s bidding, Christians in today’s America find themselves painted into a corner. We have no escape. We have no prospect for the future but the biblically predicted and unprecedented end-time persecution of the church. Whereas we once wondered how such persecution could ever happen in America, we’re wondering no more!
