My firm conviction that our country is spiritually reprobate and beyond redemption is founded on Scripture. For instance, in Romans 1:18-32, the Apostle Paul walks us down the road of the reprobate. He explains how the first step toward stepping over the line with God is taken when the sinner suppresses the truth about God; that is, the obvious truth that there is an intelligent Creator behind an intricately designed creation (vs.18-22). As you well know, our country has swapped the truth of Scripture, the Genesis account of creation, for what is falsely called science, the cockamamie theory of evolution. It is not, as popularly contended, science that has led us to swap the biblical "In the beginning God" for the balderdash of "In the beginning nothing," but, as the Apostle Paul contends, it is sin that has made modern-day America into a nation populated by inexcusable imbeciles who deny the existence of the Creator while surrounded by the irrefutable evidence of creation.

The second step on the road of the reprobate is taken when the sinner exchanges the worship of the Creator for the worship of created things (vs. 23-25). Rather than bowing before the glory of an incorruptible God the sinner shamefully bows before corruptible things. In doing so, he not only defies God and discards God's Word as the standard of right and wrong, but deifies himself and becomes his own arbiter of good and evil. As a result of usurping the place of God in his life, the sinner, thanks to his unrestrained sinful nature, inevitably sinks into the depths of depravity. Not only does he abandon himself to his vile affections, but sinks even deeper down to the depths of unnatural perversion (vs. 26-31).

According to the Apostle Paul, once the deified sinner sinks into the depths of unnatural perversion―homosexuality being the specific scriptural example given by Paul―it only takes one more step to cross the line of no return with God. That step is taken when homosexuality is not only approved of, but also advocated (v. 33). In a country that has now enshrined homosexuality in its law―legalized same-sex marriage―and by doing so provided homosexuals with special civil rights protections, can there be any doubt that we have traveled the road of the reprobate and passed a point of no return with God? The only possible way to conclude otherwise is for you to deny the clear teaching of Scripture.

It is high time Christians in America stopped desperately grasping for political straws and supporting political straw men to shore up the vain hope of our country's future survival. It's time we faced the harsh and hard facts on the ground in today's America. Today's America no longer even resembles its former self. The God-fearing country we've known and loved is no more. It has been replaced by a God-forsaking country. Indeed, the country we once were is not only dead and buried, but today's America is lining up to spit on its grave. It's not just that we no longer resemble yesterday's Christian America, but that today's antichrist America actually repudiates the Christian country we once were.

When it comes to the paths to restore our nation to what it once was, they've been rubbed out by the feet of our godless government under the noses of our clueless citizenry. We've sit around for years while our government has encroached upon our rights and freedoms to the point of nullifying our voices and votes. Today, a president can take a pen in hand and dictate his will over the will of the American people by scribbling an executive fiat. A judicial despot can take a gavel in hand and overrule the voices and votes of the American people with an autocratic court injunction. Congress, our legislative branch of government, will do nothing to impeach despots in either the executive branch or judicial branch of our government, since our so-called elected representatives are now bought and paid for by their political donors, devotees to their political parties, and far more concerned with their personal political ambitions than with the best interests of their constituencies.

Our country is caught in the perfect storm. There is no way out! The sinking of our ship of state is now inevitable. We can don one of the Donald's "Make America Great Again" caps and rearrange the deck chairs on the American Titanic if we want to, but I would suggest we not waste our time on such a foolish endeavor. Instead, lets spend what little time we have left getting the life preserver of the Gospel to as many of our fellow Americans as we can. After all, when the ship is sinking it's too late to save the ship; all you can do is try to save as many of the passengers as possible.
