Our president, as he proved in a recent speech in India, is a perfect example of what I call a "Chameleon Christian." He bragged about the fact that his "Christian" faith is so indistinguishable that he is often believed to be a Muslim rather than a Christian. Can you imagine Mr. Obama making an equal boast about his liberal politics being so indistinguishable that he is often believed to be a conservative politician? Isn't it interesting that when it comes to his political ideology he insist upon a clear distinction, but when it comes to his religious faith he insist upon an ambiguous one?

Of course, "Chameleon Christians," those capable of changing their color to fit into today's politically correct culture, are really not Christians at all, as Mr. Obama proved by his other comments in India. According to President Obama, "We are all God’s children—all equal in His eyes and worthy of His love." These comments of our president are in complete contradiction to the clear teachings of the Bible and the historic doctrines of the true Christian Faith. According to the Bible, only those who have received Christ by faith as their personal Savior have received from Him the power to become the children of God (John 1:12). Furthermore, God's love for us is based solely upon His grace, not our goodness. The most incredible thing about God's love is that none of us are worthy of it (Romans 5:7-8; 1 John 4:9-10).

Rather than quoting Scripture in India, our self-proclaimed "Christian" president quoted the following words of Gandhi: "For me, the different religions are beautiful flowers from the same garden, or they are branches of the same majestic tree." The truth, though undetected by Gandhi and our president, is that our world's false religions are "flowers from the same garden" and "branches of the same…tree." However, they are not "beautiful" flowers, but the withered flowers of the Garden of Eden; they are not branches of a "majestic tree," but branches of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. No one can ever be seen as a true Christian who stands in the shade of this infamous tree with a bouquet of such artificial flowers in their hand! If our president really wants to be a Christian he needs to come out of the shade into the light of the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:4).
