A long time ago in a place far away a country prophet walked the dusty roads of ancient Palestine. His followers were for the most part a ragtag band of social misfits. Behind Him lay a trail of awed adorers, vicious critics, and curious masses. Before Him lay the uncertain prospect of triumph or the more probable possibility of tragedy.
This itinerate’s ministry abruptly ended when he was arrested by the religious leaders of His day. They tried and convicted Him of no less heinous a crime than blasphemy. WAS JESUS CRUCIFIED ON GOOD FRIDAY?
The Bible plainly teaches us that Christ was crucified the day before the Sabbath (Mark 15:42-45; Luke 23:50-56; John 19:30-42). This leads us to conclude that Christ was crucified on a Friday, since the Jewish Sabbath is on Saturday, the seventh day of the week. This also explains our world's annual observance of Good Friday, the Friday before Easter Sunday, as the day when Christ was crucified.
