Introduction: Nehemiah is a post-exilic book that tells about the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem around 150 years after they had been destroyed by the Babylonians in 587 B.C.
Nehemiah 1:3-4 — As Nehemiah wept over the broken down walls and vulnerability of Jerusalem, we should weep over the broken down walls and vulnerability of today’s undisciplined church.
Nehemiah 4:17-18 — To build the work of the Lord one must brandish a weapon—the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
Nehemiah 7:1-3 — It’s not enough to discipline ourselves and drive the enemy out of our lives, we must ever after guard the gates against future enemy encroachments.
