TODAY'S DEVOTION ON THE BIBLE
In order to justify their work, the King James translators posed these important questions in the preamble to their translation:
1. “But now what piety without truth?”
2. “What truth (what saving truth) without the word of God?”
3. “What word of God (whereof we may be sure) without the Scripture?”
4. “Happy is the man that delights in the Scripture, and thrice happy that meditates in it day and night. But how shall men meditate in that, which they cannot understand?”
5. “How shall they understand that which is kept closed in an unknown tongue?”
