Well, we finally know what it takes for a blue state to prosecute an illegal and illegitimate voter. Minnesota, which actually allows each voter to vouch for as many as eight other voters accompanying them to the polls, has charged journalists James O’Keefe and Cam Higby with a felony, for unlawfully voting in Hennepin County, though neither journalist actually voted. What they did do, however, is prove how easy it is for noncitizens to vote in Minnesota. The two journalists, disguised as Muslims, secretly filmed themselves at Hennepin County polling places, where O'Keefe, who claimed to be a registered voter, even a deceased voter at one polling place, vouched for Higby, who wore a burqa and pretended to be a woman. While O'Keefe stopped short of signing the required voucher oath and neither he nor Higby went so far as to receive a ballot, much less cast a ballot, their video proves that they could have, as anyone else could have as well. Interestingly, prior to yesterday and Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty's announcement of charges against O'Keefe and Higby, I can find no record of any charges ever being brought before against anyone for committing voter fraud in Minnesota's voter voucher program.
