TODAY'S DEVOTION ON THE BIBLE

The book of Judges tells the story of Ehud (Judges 3:12-30). Tired of his enemy’s oppression, this courageous judge of Israel took his sharp double-edged dagger and defeated his enemy, Eglon, the king of Moab. As a result, he brought victory to Israel over the Moabites and glory to God over Israel’s defeat of their oppressors.

Perhaps, you, like Ehud, are tired of being oppressed by your enemy. If so, you need to take your sharp double-edged sword—the Word of God—and defeat the devil (Hebrews 4:12). By doing so you will deliver yourself from your spiritual oppressor and glorify God your spiritual Deliverer. However, if you are ignorant of God’s Word, you are dispossessed of the double-edged dagger needed for your deliverance and the devil’s defeat.
