TODAY'S DEVOTION ON THE BIBLE
Despite the fact that the Bible is more than life’s instruction manual, being life itself, it is, as the Apostle Paul teaches in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, the Christian manual for Christian living. To begin with, Paul teaches us that God’s divinely inspired Word—the Bible—"is profitable for doctrine."
The Bible alone is our standard of faith. It teaches us the basic tenets and cardinal doctrines of Christianity. Were it not for the Bible, our faith would be undefinable and indefensible. It is the Bible alone that distinguishes the fundamentals of our faith from nonessentials and sound doctrine from heresy. Without the Bible as the foundation upon which it is established, the Christian Faith would not exist.
