TODAY'S DEVOTION ON THE BIBLE
Confronted with the precariousness of life and the unpredictability of the future, it is hard for fallen man not to conclude that he is the helpless victim of cruel fate. How can you find a sure foundation for your life on this fallen world’s continuously shifting sand of ever-changing circumstances and situations? According to Jesus, there is a rock-solid foundation upon which you can build your life in this uncertain world. It is the Bible!
In Matthew 7:24-27, Jesus said: “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”
Only a life built on Christ’s words—the Bible—can withstand the unpredictable storms of life. All other foundations will prove faulty in the face of life’s manifold troubles and trials.
