DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

What You Do, Do Quickly
30 Oct 2005

Today we turned our clocks back from daylight savings time to regular time. This means it will be getting dark faster and we will have less time to work in the evenings.

Jesus once said, “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work” (John 9:4). I believe our world is now in its evening. The night Jesus spoke of is quickly falling. We have less time now than ever before to work for our Lord. Therefore, our service of Christ should be marked today by a heightened sense of urgency.

Although first spoken by our Lord to His betrayer, Jesus’ words in John 13:27—“What you do, do quickly”—are most appropriate for you and me today.
