The American Civil Liberties Union Denies Its Own Officers Their Civil Liberties
19 Jun 2006
I wish folks weren’t as dumb as dirt, but alas, dumbness has reached epidemic proportions, particularly in these United States. As proof, just consider how many Americans still believe that radical feminists are all about protecting women, despite the fact that they circled their wagons and were willing to defend to the death President Bill Clinton. Instead of being feminism’s number one hero, Clinton, thanks to his alleged and proven mistreatment of women, should have been its number one villain. Yet, feminists forgave and fought for Clinton. Why? Simply because feminism is not nor never has been about protecting women. It is all about advancing the feminists’ radical political ideology. And to this end, feminists are willing to climb into bed with anybody, even a philandering President with a past history strewn with discarded female victims.
This past weekend an extraordinary debate took place during the quarterly board meeting of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). The debate was over proposed standards designed to muzzle all ACLU officers and board members from criticizing the organization’s policies or internal operations. In other words, the American Civil Liberties Union wants to protect itself from criticism by denying its own officers and board members their civil liberties. This supposed defender of freedom of speech, which champions the rights of all dissidents to speak out against all things, wants to deny its own the right to speak out against itself.
While the final decision on whether or not to gag its officers and board members has been postponed to a future meeting, the debate this weekend was disturbing enough to elicit a call from the New York state attorney’s office. Gerald Rosenberg, who is the assistant attorney general in charge of the New York State charities bureau, phoned to express his concern over “a public charity [adopting] a bylaw or a binding resolution that barred its directors from discussing public policy outside the board room.”
Hopefully, some folks will smarten up and figure out that the ACLU, just like the Feminist Movement, is not what it pretends to be. The ACLU is not about protecting Americans’ civil liberties, but all about undermining America with a radical political ideology. And to this end, the ACLU will stoop to anything and stop at nothing. It will even deny its own board members’ civil liberties to keep the cat from getting out of the bag and the American people from catching on to what the ACLU is really all about.
