A NIGHTMARISH SCENARIO COME TRUE

Hamas Wins Palestinian Elections
28 Jan 2006

Hold the phones, stop the presses, and feel the ground shake beneath your feet. Hamas has won the Palestinian elections. The mask is finally off, the face of the devil exposed, and the “occupied territory” proven to be a terrorist’s haven. If the bulk of Palestinians are not terrorists themselves, they are at least terrorist’s supporters or sympathizers. Hamas, the terrorist organization dedicated to the destruction of Israel, has gained by the ballot what it could never have gained with bulletins. Thanks to a landslide victory won at the polls, Hamas has been pointed to the seat of power by the blue stained finger of the Palestinian electorate. My oh my, ain’t democracy good?

Can we finally admit what sensible people have always known; namely, Palestinians are no more interested in peace with Israel than the Nazis were with synagogue renovations? The so-called peace process is a farce. It always has been. The only difference between Hamas and Fatah, Palestine’s long governing corrupt political party founded by Yasser Arafat, is that Hamas is at least up front about its anti-Semitism. Arafat, on the other hand, walked around with an olive branch in one hand and an AK47 in the other. In Arabic he spoke to Muslims about driving the Jews into the sea, but in English he assured the rest of the world of his peaceful intentions. As a result of his masterful duplicity, Arafat won the Nobel Peace Prize despite the fact that he was responsible for the shedding of more innocent blood than any other terrorist who has ever lived.

Having assured us all that democracy is the cure-all for all of our world’s ills, President Bush found himself this week in the untenable position of trying to put a positive spin on a Palestinian election that had definitely blew up in the face of his administration. Spinning like a Muslim twirling dervish, Bush congratulated the Palestinians on their good voter turn out, explained away Hamas’ stunning upset as nothing more than the Palestinian voters’ rejection of the “status quo,” and applauded the Palestinian elections as a free and open exchange of ideas. Well, Mr. President, there are some ideas that shouldn’t even be entertained, much less exchanged; for example, Hamas’ ideas about suicide bombings and jihad.

Unable to understand that a ballot in hand doesn’t solve the problem of blackness of heart, Bush continues to campaign for worldwide democracy undaunted by the fact that the democratic process in Muslim nations is increasingly resulting in the legitimizing of terrorist organizations and the election of Islamic fascists to powerful government office. For instance, thanks to the Palestinian elections, a previously condemned terrorist organization, the leadership of which had to live in hiding lest they be targeted by Israeli retaliatory strikes for perpetrating suicide bombings against innocent Israeli citizens, is now on track to become a sitting government in the Middle East—the hotspot of the world.  Once Hamas is in power, a billion dollars in annual aid, much of which comes from U. S. coffers, will fall into the blood-stained hands of these murdering terrorists.

There is no doubt about it, terror now reigns in Palestine. It’s been enthroned by the Palestinian people. Try as he may, there’s not enough whitewash in the world for President Bush to paint this up as anything other than what it is: a nightmarish scenario come true.
