Terror, the Real Power of Islam

A few years ago, right before rising to teach a conference entitled: “The Truth About Islam,” a denominational leader handed me a letter that had been jointly written and signed by missionaries serving in Muslim lands. The letter was an appeal to Christians in the States to tone down our rhetoric and soft pedal our opposition to Islam, lest we endanger the lives of these missionaries and their families. In other words, our missionaries were asking us to speak well of Islam so that they and their families would not be murdered by Muslims. After reading the letter, I was asked by the denominational leader what I intended to do. I answered, “What I’ve come here to do; tell the truth about Islam.” I then rose and taught the conference, without prevarication or apology.
Our world is being pushed around and intimidated today by a menacing, murderous and militant religion. Cartoonists are afraid to draw, newspapers are afraid to print and even the pope is now scared to say anything negative about Islam. Any affront by anyone to Muslim sensibilities immediately results in “fatwas” flying, churches burning, riots raging, suicide bombings and videoed beheadings, not to mention the inevitable groveling of today’s lily-livered international community before Islam’s touchy adherents and terrorist organizations.
The latest in this ongoing saga of outrageous atrocities committed by Muslims in response to any offense, even an infinitesimal or illusory one, was recently precipitated when Pope Benedict XVI quoted a 14th-century Byzantine emperor during a papal address at Germany’s University of Regensburg. According to Manuel II Paleologus, the emperor quoted by the pope, the only “new” things brought into the world by the Prophet Mohammed were “things evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”
Despite the truth of Emperor Manuel II Paleologus’ claim, Catholicism’s “infallible” pope has acquiesced to Muslim anger and taken the unprecedented step of recanting. In addition, the pope has gone out of his way to assure the Islamic World that he is “deeply sorry” for any offense that he has caused Muslims. Of course, the unanimous condemnation of the pope by Pakistan’s legislature, the comparison of the pope to Hitler and Mussolini by a top Turkish official, the firebombing of several churches in the Middle East, the murder of a nun in Somalia, and Al-Qaida in Iraq’s warning that Islam’s war against Christianity and the West will continue until Muslims have conquered the world, have undoubtedly served as incentives for the pope’s unprecedented recantation and apology.
The pope’s absence of backbone in standing up to Islamic intimidation does not bode well for the future, especially when so many of our world’s other religious and political leaders have already shown themselves spineless in the face of Muslim scare tactics. Whether it’s our media and politicians’ determination to see to it that captured terrorists are treated with kid gloves, our president’s denial that we’re at war with a religion that daily declares war on us from madrases and mosques all over the world, the United Nations’ codling of state sponsors of terrorism and condemnation of the state of Israel for defending itself against terrorists, or the international community’s failure to halt the enrichment of uranium in the world’s foremost terrorist state’s mad dash toward nuclear armament, one cannot help but feel that our naïve and nail biting world is succumbing to a mounting and menacing worldwide bully.
It is high time that today’s cowering world woke up to the fact that terror is and always has been a major tenet of the religion of the sword. Indeed, without it, Islam would have perished soon after the Prophet Mohammed and never have gotten off of the Arabian Peninsula, as is proven by Islam’s infamous Wars of Apostasy. These wars, fought by Abu Bakr, Islam’s first Caliph (successor to Mohammed), resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of people. These people, having been forced to convert to Islam during the life of Mohammed at the point of the prophet’s sword, immediately apostatized upon the welcomed news of Mohammed’s death. Thus, they were mercilessly executed by Abu Bakr for their apostasy, which is a capital offense according to the Koran (Surah 4:89; 9:12-14).
According to the Hadith, Mohammed once asked his followers for a volunteer to assassinate a Jewish poetess who had written poems ridiculing the people of Medina for converting to Islam. Umayr idn Awf volunteered for the assignment and murdered the poetess one night while she was in bed with her children, one of which she was nursing at the time. Afterward, Umayr returned to offer morning prayers with Mohammed who commended him for his service of Allah and assured him that “two goats would not butt their heads together” over the death of the Jewish poetess.
So emboldened was this follower of Mohammed by the prophet’s commendation that he went to the poetess’ family and mocked them. He admitted to the dead woman’s five grown sons that he had murdered their mother. He then challenged them, “Withstand me if you can: don’t keep me waiting.” The poetess’ sons were afraid to stand up to Umayr; consequently, they backed down, too terrified to avenge the blood of their mother. As a result of this incident, the Hadith teaches that many people became Muslims, seeing for the first time the real power of Islam—terror.
Mohammed himself contributed his success in spreading his new-fangled religion to terror. He once said, “I have been sent with the shortest expressions bearing the widest meanings, and I have been made victorious with terror.” On another occasion, he attributed his “superiority over the other prophets” to the fact that he had “been helped by terror (in the hearts of his enemies).” The Koran, which is supposedly compiled of the Prophet Mohammed’s recitations, teaches that Allah terrorizes unbelievers through the acts of his followers (Surah 3:151; 8:12-13, 59-60; 33:25-27; 59:2-4, 11-13) and that his real “mighty power” is found in “iron”—the sword (Surah 57:25).
Muslims really believe, because their religion really teaches it, that they can bully the world into submission to their god. Anyone refusing to be intimidated must be eradicated; as Islam’s ultimatum makes clear: “Worship Allah or die.” Like all bullies, Muslims will never stop until they’re stood up to. Granted, standing up to this militant religion may mean suffering a black eye, but a black eye is a small price to pay in order to prevent ourselves from being pushed around by a satanically inspired false religion (see: Luke 9:51-56; John 8:44; 10:10).
