Rosie O'Donnell Equates "Radical Christianity" With "Radical Islam"
18 Sep 2006

Like many homosexuals, Rosie O’Donnell is ticked off at Christians for refusing to condone her sexual deviancy. In Rosie’s mind, anyone refusing to pass out permission slips to the sexually promiscuous is a hatemonger wishing ill upon the practitioners of sexual perversion. Far from seeing Christian condemnation of her sexual immorality as a warning generated by genuine concern for her and her soul, Rosie sees Christians who disagree with her and disapprove of her “alternative lifestyle” as a bunch of hate speech spewing, hate crimes scheming hatemongers.

According to Rosie’s philosophy, someone warning a speeding train of a washed out trestle is a hatemonger trying to create panic among train passengers. Rather than commending the person who warns the train of impending disaster out of a genuine concern for everyone onboard, Rosie would condemn the person for upsetting the passengers and speaking out against railroading. Such illogical caterwauling is typical of today’s gay rights movement, a movement comprised of people determined to ride the rails of sexual deviancy to its bitter end, while demonizing everyone who cares enough to warn them of the impending disaster ahead.

Recently, on ABC’s “The View,” Rosie O’Donnell interrupted co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s warning about the threat posed to our world by militant Islam. “Just a minute,” Rosie said. “Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America where we have separation of church and state.” While poking fun at Rosie for her serious gray cell deficiency is tempting, I’ll limit myself to poking holes in her absurd assertion.

To begin with, there is no such thing as separation of church and state in America. The words “separation of church and state” are nowhere to be found in our Constitution. Instead, the Constitution simply states: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” In other words, the church is not prohibited from being involved in government, but the government is prohibited from being involved in the church.

In Rosie O’Donnell’s twisted interpretation of the Constitution, our government must never act in accordance with Christian beliefs or convictions. If it does, it is acting in cahoots with the church and in violation of the Constitution. Thus, if the church condemns homosexuality, the government is constitutionally bound to condone it by legalizing its practice and sanctioning same-sex marriages. Only by acting contrary to Christian teaching can our government remain separate from the church and purely secular, as Rosie insists our Founding Fathers intended. Of course, following Rosie’s flawed figuring to its inevitable end leads to the conclusion that the only constitutional government is one that reviles Christ and rivals Christianity.

Secondly, for Rosie O’Donnell, who would be imprisoned or executed for the crime of homosexuality in a Muslim country, to denounce Christianity, the very faith upon which our country’s freedoms were established, as tantamount to Islam is more than a little preposterous. Here, thanks to the freedoms allotted her by America’s Judeo-Christian ethic, Rosie is a wealthy television personality who is permitted to propaganda the airwaves with her decadent and despicable diatribes. In a Muslim country, however, she’d still be in the closet; or worse, she’d be in the gulag or a grave.

Rosie’s confusing of the church’s condemnation of homosexuality with intolerance of homosexuals could be cleared up quickly by a visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. All Rosie would need to do is stand on a street corner and spew the same pro-homosexual, anti-religious drivel there that she does here on network television. In no time at all she would learn the true meaning of intolerance. While Rosie would never forget the lesson she would learn, I’m afraid viewers of ABC’s “The View” would never see their show’s co-host again.

Finally, the dubbing of traditional Christianity as “radical” by a same-sex marriage championing lesbian who wants to overturn our country’s traditional morals and values is a little too much for this country preacher to stomach. According to the dictionary, the word “radical” means “favoring drastic political, economic, or social reforms.” If you ask me, this is a perfect description of Rosie O’Donnell and her ilk, not of me and my Christian brethren. Those things believed by me and my fellow-Christians are the traditional beliefs of America’s past generations, as well as the bedrock beliefs upon which America was founded. On the other hand, the radical beliefs of America’s Rosie O’Donnells have undoubtedly caused both our forefathers and Founding Fathers to turn over in their graves again and again.
