Sunday, in an interview on Fox New's Sunday Morning, Secretary of State Marco Rubio unintentionally let the cat out of the bag, when it comes to the insanity of negotiating a peace deal with Hamas. Remember, not too long ago, in a sane America, our government absolutely refused to negotiate with terrorists, knowing that doing so only incentivized the taking of hostages by terrorists. Rubio admitted yesterday that the genocidal maniacs of Hamas had only "generally accepted" the "general outline" of President Trump's 20 point peace plan, which includes such things as the release of hundreds of Hamas terrorists from Israeli custody, in exchange for 28 corpses and 20 tortured and emaciated hostages, who are still believed to be alive. Rubio went on to warn that the Trump Administration is "dealing with Hamas," who he readily acknowledged were "killers, savages, and terrorists." Of course, my question, as well as the question of every American, ought to be, "Why are we even dealing with terrorists and why does any peace deal have to be acceptable to them?" After all, the only remedy for evil in this world is its eradication, certainly not negotiation nor conciliation.
In addition to the above absurdities, President Trump has now called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is dedicated and determined to wipeout Hamas once and for all, to immediately cease and desist from all military operations in Gaza, because Hamas has sorta agreed to a single point of Trump's 20 point peace plan. Adding insult to injury, Trump also twisted Netanyahu's arm, making him apologize to Qatar for an unsuccessful Israeli military strike on Hamas headquarters in Doha, Qatar's capital. In spite of Qatar, our so-called ally, not only housing the leadership of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, but also giving billions of dollars to fund Islamic studies departments and antisemitic and pro-Palestinian protests on American college and university campuses, Trump still forced Netanyahu to ask for forgiveness from the Qataris.
Now, just to add another absurdity, out of an abundance of absurdities that could be articulated, the Democratic candidate for governor of Virginia, Abigail Spanberger, who is presently leading in the polls, once worked in an Islamic Saudi Academy in northern Virginia, which not only has terrorist links to Hamas, but also teaches animosity toward all non-muslims, especially Jews, and has educated some children of top Hamas leaders. Of course, a Democrat in bed with jihadists is nothing new, as Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's infamous "Somalians first, Muslim second" political stump speech recently illustrated.
Today, I, like the late Margaret Thatcher in her day, "smell the stench of appeasement in the air." Furthermore, I agree wholeheartedly with another former British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, who famously said, "An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last." While we may be the last to be eaten; make no mistake about it, our absurd appeasement of adversarial jihadists will result in us eventually being devoured by those who we presently and preposterously insist upon placating rather than annihilating.
