1 The New Testament refers to believers as “saints” more than sixty times. It refers to unbelievers as “sinners” over forty times. Clearly, the New Testament term for believers is “saints” and for unbelievers is “sinners.” Although the New Testament acknowledges that all believers still sin, it does not identify them as sinners. We must conclude, therefore, that Christians are not, as it is often said, “Sinners who are forgiven.” Instead, we are saints who sin!
