TODAY'S DEVOTION ON THE BIBLE
Along with being milk for the new convert, the Bible is also meat for the mature Christian. It is, as Hebrews 5:14 says, meat for the mature, who have constantly trained themselves by the Scriptures to “distinguish good from evil.”
By constantly studying God’s Word, Christians grow in their faith, mature in the Spirit, and are able to discern how to daily walk out God’s Word in their lives. Furthermore, by becoming skilled in the Scriptures, Christians sharpen their spiritual senses so that they become acutely sensitive to the still small voice of the Holy Spirit. Consequently, they can clearly hear the Spirit’s counsel in every circumstance and are attuned to His tutelage in all of their trials.
