If you claim the Bible as your spiritual authority, but cherry-pick its sacred pages, your claim is proven spurious. Far from judging your beliefs and behavior by the Bible, you’re actually judging the Bible by your personal whims and wishes. To usurp such personal authority over the spiritual authority of God’s perfect precepts is to be guilty of gross impertinence toward God.
