TODAY'S DEVOTION ON THE BIBLE

Once the King James translation was completed, the new Bible was rushed to the printers in such haste that several mistakes were made in early printings.

  1. In some early copies, the “sin no more” of John 5:14 read “sin on more.”
  2. In others, Luke 20 recorded the “parable of the Vinegar” rather than the “parable of the Vineyard.”
  3. And in the most infamous typo, the word “not” was omitted from the Seventh Commandment, causing it to read: “Thou shalt commit adultery.” Copies of this printing became known as the “Wicked Bible” or the “Adulterer’s Bible.”
