TODAY'S DEVOTION ON THE BIBLE
When the King James translation was finished the first copies came off the press with a Title Page that read: “The Holy Bible, Containing the Old Testament and the New: Newly translated out of the original tongues, with the formal translations diligently compared and revised, by his Majesty’s special commandment. Appointed to be read in churches. Imprinted in London by Robert Blake, printer to the king’s most excellent majesty. Anna Dom. 1611.”
The translation also included a Dedication Page that read: “To the most high and mighty Prince James.” This explains why the translation became known as the Authorized 1611 King James Version of the Bible.
