TODAY'S DEVOTION ON THE BIBLE

It was not until the 14th century, more than 500 years after the initial translations of the Gospels into English in the 8th century, that someone dared to take up the tremendous task of translating the whole Bible into English. The daring soul who did so was named John Wycliffe. This first translation of the whole Bible into English, which was undertaken by Wycliffe, is primarily attributed to him, in spite of the fact that his translation of the Old Testament had to be finished by his friends some time after his death around 1384 AD.
