TODAY'S DEVOTION ON THE BIBLE

Many Muslims believe that the only authorized translation of their so-called holy book, the Koran, into English is, The English Translation of the Holy Koran, by Abdullah Yusuf Ali. Interestingly, many Christians believe that the only authorized translation of the Bible into English is, The King James Version of the Bible. Like some Muslims, who advocate that all other English translations of the Koran, apart from Dr. Ali’s, are bereft of inspiration, “King James Only” adherents advocate that all other English translations of Bible, apart from the 1611 Authorized King James Version, are bereft of divine inspiration.

As we will later investigate at length, the teaching by some Christians today that the King James Version of the Bible is the only inspired English translation is not only erroneous, but without any basis in fact. It was the authors of Scripture who were divinely inspired, not the King James translators, nor any other translators for that matter. Whereas all English translations of the Bible are not equal, none are divinely inspired translations. No English translation of the Bible, including the King James Version, should be advocated as the exclusive and authorized English translation, the only translation to be trusted and read.
